Connor Spence

Health & Wellbeing Coordinator

Connor studied Criminal Justice at the University of the West of Scotland, graduating in 2018. Following his graduation, he embarked on a career path dedicated to supporting and empowering individuals within the criminal justice system. Beginning as an unpaid work supervisor for individuals serving community-based sentences, Connor concurrently served as a youth worker at a local high school in the Scottish Borders, demonstrating his commitment to fostering positive change in the community.

Transitioning to a full-time role as a criminal justice officer for Scottish Borders Council, he provided crucial support to individuals with convictions and those transitioning from prison back into society. Eager to broaden his skill set, Connor pursued a post-graduate social work course with the Open University, undertaking placements in learning disability social work and children and families social work. Graduating with distinction, he now applies his expertise as a valuable member of a community mental health social work team. Outside of his professional endeavors, Connor’s lifelong passion for rugby has been evident since the age of 4, with the majority of his playing career spent at Melrose Rugby. While he primarily excels in the center position, Connor has also showcased his versatility with appearances on the wing.
